We provide flexibility to ensure you are comfortable when taking the IELTS test. If writing comes more naturally than typing for you, choose IELTS on computer with Writing on Paper when booking your IELTS test with us. If you choose Writing on Paper, your Writing section tasks will be shown on screen, but you’ll complete the responses using a pen on an IELTS Writing Answer Sheet. The task types, scoring and time allocation are exactly the same whether you take the Writing section using a keyboard and mouse or a pen and paper. Writing on Paper is available for both IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training.

Convenient test locations and dates
The British Council’s official IELTS test centres are located in cities that can be easily accessed. You can find a wide selection of test date options to suit your schedule and book your test well in advance. You can also change your test date for free up to 15 days before the test.
