The British Council's partnership with the Tullow Group has fostered a very successful and far reaching scholarship scheme which aims to contribute to long-term socio-economic development particularly, but not specifically, in oil and gas industries.

In 2014 over 4,000 Ghanaians applied for the Tullow scholarship. A total of 56 candidates have been awarded full scholarships for Masters programmes in the UK.

The British Council is able to offer a wealth of experience in the area of scholarship management in higher educational programmes, supporting development goals and priorities in Sub-Saharan Africa and around the world. As the UK’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations, the British Council works in over 100 countries in the Arts, Education and English language.
