Role overview

Outline of the Job

  • To oversee the effective delivery of projects, courses and programmes in line with British Council standards and to the satisfaction of clients   
  • To support the business development team in the development of relevant products and services to run under the skills hub  
  • To manage the use of space and resources for projects, courses and programmes run under the Skills Hub  
  • To use project management tools and systems for projects and ensure budget and financial compliance, budget management and integrity of our projects   
  • To line manage staff  working under various projects   
  • To ensure effective evaluation is carried of projects in line with project outcomes and expectations 
  • To effectively engage and build relationships with stakeholders (internal and external), customers and clients.
Specific responsibilities will include:       

1. Delivery of projects and products: Accountable for successful delivery of Skills Hub projects and products to include resource and budget monitoring etc. 
 
a) Responsible for ensuring projects are delivered to output and financial targets    

  • helping with the scheduling and resourcing of projects, programmes and courses      
  • implementing the evaluation of the projects and current programmes 
  • budget monitoring for project, products and services

2. Input into marketing and product development 


  • input into the marketing and promotion of courses and skills hub products 
  • input into the development of relevant products and services, and the improvement of existing products and services in line with market research and analysis 
  • knowledge of British Council on-line and face-to-face products 
  • gathering market intelligence to inform effective business decision-making
 

3. Monitoring and evaluation


  • Effective information gathering for quality assurance and understanding of customer satisfaction 
  • Evaluation of projects during implantation and at completion using given tools 
  • Continuing evaluation of impact of activities and projects


4. Staff Management:  Responsible for the effective management of the schools team; coach and support any individuals and teams involved in delivering outcomes

Special requirements

Some late hours, some weekend work/unsocial hours and travel will be required.

Skills and Qualifications

One year’s work experience as a Project manager.   
Knowledge of the education and training sector systems in Ghana   
Education to First degree level or equivalent.
