We are pleased to announce the official launch of the New Narratives Programme!
New Narratives is a five-year programme that will contribute to updating narratives of countries of Africa and the UK. We will achieve this through a series of activities that stimulate dialogue and foster beneficial collaborations in arts, culture, and education.
The programme will support young African content creators and storytellers, it will facilitate meaningful person-to-person engagement between young Africans and their peers in the UK and internationally and seek to amplify African youth voice and influence on organisations developing programming that concerns them.
To kick off the launch is the #NewNarrativesChallenge, an Instagram video competition targeted at young people aged 18-35 from countries of Africa and the UK. With the Challenge, we are seeking to amplify youth voices and share diverse stories from the UK and African Countries.
The top ten creative videos from the Challenge win a £500 prize award each.

We have a series of activities and dialogue sessions lined up as part of the launch; we will share more information on this in the coming weeks.
It's time to tell 'other stories' and encourage plural narratives.
