British Council Ghana organised its annual PSGN awards on 14 November 2019, the event was attended by over 1100 participants which included school leaders, principals, teachers, parents and students. Recognitions and awards were given to schools, teachers and students for the brilliant performances in the May/June 2019 Cambridge examinations.
A total of 24 students were awarded in the Best subject category and two received outstanding students’ awards. Also recognised were 44 teachers nominated by their schools for supporting the students. Three schools were also awarded Best Schools based on the performance of their students. Winners in the awards category received various prizes ranging from electronic gadgets, plaques, book vouchers, gift box and Cambridge paraphernalia.
The 2019 awards ceremony happened to be the best attended PSGN event in Ghana. The British High Commissioner to Ghana, Iain Walker and Efua Asiedu, the Cambridge West Africa manager attended to illustrate their strong support.
Alan Rutt,Country Director for Ghana while delivering a speech at the Awards indicated that the British Council is committed to creating opportunities and continually developing and enhancing its training offer for schools.

Mixed with fun and exciting performance, students from the partner schools took turns to thrill the audience with outstanding performances; from intercultural dances, poetry, singing and violin music performance. Audience feedback echoed the astounding night. The entertainment was fun with performance from 12-year old DJ Switch.
Principals and owners shared praise and appreciation afterwards in the networking session, it was a feel-good event that allowed everyone to celebrate and feel proud of their achievements. With over 55 partner schools now, the impact of the PSGN programme is very impressive.
