British Council Ghana held its 8th annual awards night to recognise students from its partner schools who excelled in the May/June 2017 Cambridge Assessment International Education exams on 17 November 2017 in Accra. This event was held with the active support of Cambridge Assessment International Education.

Among the special guest who graced the occasion were His Excellency Iain Walker, The British High Commissioner to Ghana, Alan Rutt, Country Director, British Council Ghana, teachers, parents and principals from our partner schools. 

A total of 24 students were awarded in the Best subject category and three received outstanding students awards. Also recognised were 26 teachers nominated by their schools for supporting the students. Four schools were also awarded Best Schools based on the performance of their students. Winners in the awards category received various prizes ranging from electronic gadgets, plaques, book vouchers hampers and Cambridge paraphernalia.

The awards night was attended by over 700 people that comprise principals, teachers, parents and students. The awards night was started with an address by His Excellency Iain Walker, The British High Commissioner.

Mixed with fun and exciting performance, students from our partner schools took turns to thrill the audience with outstanding performances; from intercultural dances, poetry, singing and violin music performance. Audience feedback echoed the astounding night:
