as well as support the wider aims of British Council and its cultural relations mission.

Role overview
Context and environment
The British Council Ghana plays a pivotal role in the SSA region and globally in the delivery of impact for our audiences in the UK and Ghana. This job is based in a directorate that offers lots of opportunities for innovation and testing new approaches. The job is initially offered for 2 years with a possibility of an extension, depending on the success of the Skills Hub initiative. The Hub will bring together a training centre, a new age library, and enterprise incubation idea.
Accountabilities
Support British Council’s skills agenda and global English strategy by
- building a sustainable business model of Skills Hub by bringing new partners on board and innovation
- enhancing British Council’s reputation as a world authority in skills and English
- testing new delivery models and sharing of best practices
- developing the product portfolio in line with market research
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the Skills Hub meets learner needs and expectations
- Ensuring teaching meets Teaching Quality standards and organisational expectations
- Maintaining good relationships with customers and colleagues
- Supporting the Hub’s activities and British Council plans
- Working with Country Director, the Senior Teacher, and relevant Ghana and regional teams to develop and implement the offer in line with market research, business targets, policies and standards
- Line managing of trainers to corporate standards and act as duty officer as required.
Main duties
- Work with the relevant teams to finalise the Skills Hub concept to corporate standards and launch the activity
- Day to day running of the Skills Centre
- Contribute to the development, evaluation, and improvement of courses, materials and related services, in order to meet the needs of clients and stakeholders
- Actively pursue and procure new partnerships
- Managing risks in line with corporate standards
- Contribute to the development of lasting, mutually beneficial relationships by enhancing British Council Ghana image and reputation as well as the understanding of contemporary UK
- Support social enterprise strategy

Ensure safeguarding and guidelines are applied and upheld in line with standards and policies for the following areas: Child protection, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Health and safety
- To ensure financial compliance with all income and expenditure
