Thank you to all those who applied to the Cultural Exchange open call 2021/22! After months of reviewing some really great proposals, we are excited to announce 66 projects selected under this open call which seeks to promote connections and collaborations between creatives and arts organizations which result in the creation of new art and art insights to be shared more widely with audiences in Sub-Saharan Africa and the United Kingdom.
We are pleased to announce the recipients of the Cultural Exchange fund 2021/22, supporting UK and Sub Sahara Africa(SSA) cultural partnerships to develop digital, face-to-face and hybrid artistic projects. Our new open call sought to support organisations and individuals in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria Senegal, South Africa, Sudan, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Zambia as well as the four countries that constitute the UK to develop new ways of working internationally - allowing cultural exchange to flourish despite restrictions on global movement. A priority was given to projects which will also contribute to sharing new narratives or lesser known perspectives of SSA in the UK and the UK in SSA.
