Examination services

IELTS

IELTS tests have resumed in Accra, Kumasi and Tamale. 

Test-takers who had their tests affected by the lockdown will be eligible for a transfer or refund by completing this form here or contacting our centre via email infoghana@gh.britishcouncil.org. Please note that this offer ends on the 26 February 2021.

Professional and University exams

All Professional and University exams have also been suspended until further notice. Kindly look out for formal communication from your University or Professional body. Will my scheduled tests still hold as planned?

The date for your test will determine whether it will come off as planned or not. We are also unsure of how soon this crisis will be gone.  

 

I am yet to be contacted; does it mean my test will still hold as previously scheduled?

Owing to coronavirus pandemic and shutting down of activities, I would like to know if IELTS exam would still hold in other centres that are not in Accra.

Three of our test centres are currently open; Accra, Kumasi and Tamale.

Must test-takers apply for a refund or can one leave the application until the British Council resume activities

Does the speaking test we have already taken still stand and will it be used at the next transfer date one selects?

If you had your speaking test already, it is not valid and speaking test will have to be taken again.

Since I made payment over two weeks ago, the status of my test date is still showing: "Awaiting Approval". I sent an email and I’m yet to get a reply.

I'm trying to get a refund for a duplicate IELTS payment. Is there a number I can call that is working?

Does the 25% fee apply to a refund requested because of the global pandemic?

The 25% fee does not apply in this case.

Will there be a delay in release and dispatch of results?

Results for all tests already taken have been released online for 30 days. However, hard copy results will be delivered to your location for free via courier only if you live in Ghana. If you live outside Ghana, a fee will be charged. Kindly contact us via email at infoghana@gh.britishcouncil.org on the next steps.

Can we still apply for EOR at this time and how can I proceed?

Would the current closure affect the timeline for EOR application?

At the moment, there is no impact on the timelines for EOR requests, which is within 4 weeks of the request.

Are there safety precautions being put in place on test day, due to the Corona virus outbreak.

All safety precautions recommended by the health agencies are in place.
